The first thing I did was to look for some place in my kitchen where I could install a little storage rack. I found a little poorly-designed corner in the kitchen. I didn't want to take that counter space up though; I hung a four-tier rack from the ceiling with hooks. In the rack, I stock my glasses, my coffee mugs, a few articles of canned food, potatoes and onions. I have always been a believer in how pots and pans, tea cups and coffee mugs, anything within an ear or a handle, belongs on a hook. I knew that if I began to stock my pots and pans and the meager shelf space I had (all 6 feet of them), I would end up with no space for anything else. So everything that could be hung was hung on the wall. I got loads of those little hooks that are set in to a plastic backing and double-sided tape. I hung these all over the kitchen walls and all my pots and pans were right away off my hands.
Add color and warmth to your kitchen by using interesting fabrics as curtains, valances or table cloths. You could even use them as appliance covers. You could find fabric at excellent prices at discount sales or garage sales.Another of my budget kitchen design ideas is to grow a window box of fresh herbs. You could also go for an arrangement of dried flowers in a corner. If you cannot do that, fill a small wicker basket with fresh fruit and place it on a counter to brighten up your kitchen.
If you find it too expensive to remodel your kitchen, just organize it better so that you have enough space for all your appliances. Make space by simply fixing a beautiful wrought iron curtain rod on the wall above your counter. Hang attractive towels from it, and use s-hooks to hang ladles and frequently used pans from it. You will free up shelf space to store utensils that you use only infrequently, such as when you entertain. Free up space on your counter by fixing wall mounted racks. A triangular corner rack is a good idea to use up space in corners that normally get wasted or are inaccessible. This also enables you to keep your counter clean.
When you think of materials for the new professional kitchen, think stainless steel as this is the preferred surface of all professional cooks. Stainless steel is durable and resists heat and most stains. In your professional kitchen design ideas, you will want to include a hardwood chopping block that will have a waste disposal drawer for all of those peelings and there should be, with it, a marble slab for rolling pastry. You may also consider a freestanding work stations that has everything in it including a sink for washing the fruits and vegetables.
Another aspect of kitchen design ideas to be considered is whether or not you need your kitchen to be kid friendly. If you have young children in your home, you may want to create an area that allows your children easy access to countertop space so that they may assist you and learn from you when cooking. Often, a kitchen island space works well for this and, if your kitchen does not allow for an island, set up a space that is not too close to your cooking zone.
